About Us
Jay Wood has been a professional instructor and horse trainer for the past 19 years. He was raised at Westwood Farm by his mother VeeAnn Wood and his father Ernie Wood. Since the tender age of 2, Jay has been riding and showing horses. VeeAnn and Ernie ran a full service training and lesson facility and it seemed only natural when Jay took over the business in 1991 - after all- he was born to be a horse trainer.
Before taking over Westwood Farm, Jay trained with some of the most respected Morgan and Saddlebred trainers in the country. He spent many years as an apprentice to these fine trainers and polished his already well developed training and teaching techniques.
Jay believes in starting your horses and young riders with the basics and then building upon their natural strengths and abilities to bring out the best in each individual.
